IF : Poof !

Do you ever walk into a room and forget why the hell you walked in there?

POOF!

Do you ever go to the store for ONE item and because you didn't write it on a piece of paper, you forget what ONE thing you were supposed to get?

POOF!

Do you ever find yourself forgetting what you were talking about midway through a story?

POOF!

Nope, never happens to me either.

Here's to middle age!

( and no, this is not supposed to be me or anyone else I know. Just some made-up scatterbrain!)

Happy Weekend everyone!

Oh yes! And sometimes I have to go back to the room I started in just to remember why I left it!

Funny one!

Why do you think I carry my Moleskine everywhere? I have to write everything down. I even have post-it notes in my car to write while I am driving. And I still forget...

Thank goodness I'm not the only one! Sometimes I catch myself standing in front of the wide open fridge, trying to remember what the heck I was going to get. Perfect POOF!

This happens so often to me that sometimes I worry that I am really losing it. Great idea for 'poof' and a beautiful illustration.

Wait a minute! What did I come in here for? Where am I? Rats!

I do this all the time -- especially when I'm tired. I've been tired a lot lately. What was I saying?

Very happy little face! Can totally relate to the sentiment...I am really in trouble in about 10 years. LOL

Your scatterbrain is lovely! Having just retrieved my reading glasses from the dishwasher, I want to wish you a happy, happy Poof on the 7th (in advance). For a young friend's 60th we had a T-shirt made: on the front in fuzzy lettering we had printed, "Where are my reading glasses' and on the back 'Does anybody know why I came into this room'. Tomorrow I'm off to Edinburgh College of Art to do a week's course in Illustration. I shall report back! Enjoy Sunday!

Great idea for Poof! Yes, it happens to me, then I have to tell myself the story of the previous few minutes of my life in order to remember what I was doing.

what i hate is when i'm sewing something...i'm sitting there on the couch...scissors on the arm of the couch...i KNOW they're there. i reach over to snip some thread, and the scissors have disappeared.

i get up...i look on the cushions, under the cushions...under the couch! no f***king scissors. where the hell are they?

so i widen the search pattern till i'm finally in another room, looking for the G***D*****NED scissors!

i go BACK to the couch, where i was sitting in the first place...and there they are...on the arm. just where i left them.

aarrrrrrgh.

I've been a scatterbrain my whole life, but middle age shines an all new light on it, heehee. When I forget what I was supposed to pick up at the store, I manage to find a few things I "need" anyway. This memory thing can be a bit expensive.

Love the drawing, hee hee. The look on her face is priceless!

I was going to leave a comment but then I forgot what I had to say about this delightful drawing. Oh well. Perhaps another time.

That happened to me just yesterday (or was it the other day...?) I like the expression, how the mouth is smiling but the eyes are angry. That's how I feel when that happens. I'm mad it happened (again) but laughing at myself.

I sometimes forget why I got online. I know I was supposed to look something up...geez, what was it?

I'm not even middle aged and that happens to me. I have a word for, "brain fart." And yes, this is a shameless promotion of my IF entry.

I might have had that idea, but poof, just like that it went away. Very creative illustration. Nicely done.

I saw this joke and it reminded me of your post:

hree old ladies are sitting in a diner, chatting about various things. One lady says, "You know, I'm getting really forgetful. This morning, I was standing at the top of the stairs, and I couldn't remember whether I had just come up or was about to go down."
The second lady says, "You think that's bad? The other day, I was sitting on the edge of my bed and I couldn't remember whether I was going to sleep or had just woken up!
The third lady smiles smugly, "Well, my memory is just as good as it's always been, knock on wood," she says as she raps on the table. Then with a startled look on her face, she asks, "Who's there?"
